A long-time Vermonter, Jim received his B.A. from the University of Vermont, in Burlington, followed by his M.D. from the Medical College of Vermont, also in Burlington. He did his surgical residency at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont and another in Emergency Medicine at the Institute of Emergency Medicine and Trauma, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jim was also an assistant coach for the U.S. Olympic Sailboard Team from 1984 through 1988. Jim has been associated with Killington Medical Clinic since 1986, and the VOC since 1997. Previously, he was a Research and Surgical Assistant for Mid-Vermont Orthopaedics in Rutland. |

He received a B.S. in Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont, and then was awarded his M.D. at Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica. He served his residency and family practice at Saginaw Cooperative Hospitals, in Michigan. He also completed a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin, in Milwaukee. Matt has been on staff at the Killington Medical Clinic and the VOC since 2004. Previously, he served as the Assistant Residency Director and the Director for Sports Medicine at St. Michael Family Practice Residency, in Milwaukee. Matt also enjoys several sports team affiliations, including serving as team physician for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard teams. |

Among his career highlights, Bill has been a featured speaker at many sports injury training and rehab events and conferences, including the USST Athletic Summit Meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah. He also was a Guest Specialist for the USST at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he worked to develop ski-specific strength training and conditioning techniques for Olympic athletes. Bill has co-authored many books and articles on sports injuries and he maintains active membership in several training and conditioning associations. |
